After 25 years of experience in the Real Estate business, I realized early on that there was a difference in the way agents did business. Along the way I have worked for the best in the business and have taken the best from each and developed my own personal selling style that is centered on service, responsiveness and industry expertise. During this time I have survived the savings and loan bust of the 80’s and early 90’s, the boom years that followed and now the downturn in our present economy. Through it all, I continued to do business and by watching the trends in the market have always been able to provide the service each buyer or seller needs. One thing’s for sure, the real estate market changes and there is never a single factor that determines market value.
The Texas Association of Realtors has given me a wonderful opportunity to serve my industry by appointing me to the Standard Professional Committee for the state of Texas. We have yearly training which always makes me very aware of the responsibility I have to my clients, other Realtors and everyone in the industry. Serving on this committee makes me a better Realtor and expands my industry expertise that in turn can be applied on each client’s transaction.
Over the years we have built our business on service not the dollar volume we produced. We have always felt very strongly about keeping the client informed of the market, making our own appointments for showings on their homes, and making sure their homes are in the best possible condition when they put them on the market. This intense focus has lead to a very healthy referral business and in fact we have a single client’s referrals that have lead to 16 closings!! There is not a better confirmation of a job well done than the referrals of past clients.
The trust that I have received was further highlighted when an out of town referral allowed me to purchase a home for his family in the Park Cities. They did not fly in to see the home until the day of inspections and we closed it within a month. I knew it fit their guidelines and there was not time for them to fly to Dallas and write the offer. We had to move quickly and most importantly posture against several other buyers that were attempting to purchase the property! I love being able to help a family find their dream home.
